Organisers of the Oyo Mix & Mic Battle, chaired by Oluwatosin Odita (a.k.a. King Zlo), have announced the postponement of the highly anticipated entertainment event, citing the need to promote wider inclusion and ensure equal participation for all stakeholders within the creative industry.

While making the declaration on Tuesday, through the media committee, according to the organisers, the decision was informed by observations that the current period remains particularly busy for DJs, hypelords, and other key players in the entertainment space.
They noted that proceeding with the event at this time could unintentionally limit participation, as many talents are already committed to end-of-year engagements.

To avoid excluding participants due to scheduling constraints, the event has been shifted to a less busy period when more creatives would be available to fully showcase their talents.

The organisers explained that the extended timeline would also be used to harmonise efforts among stakeholders, including DJs, hypelords, and other industry professionals, to ensure a more coordinated and inclusive competition that reflects the diversity of talents within Oyo State’s entertainment community.
Meanwhile, the committee chairman Oluwatosin Odita, disclosed that additional categories would be introduced to further broaden participation. These include expanded segments for music and dance, among others, to ensure that no creative is left out of the competition.
In a move aimed at encouraging mass participation, the organisers announced that the event has now been made completely free. Participants who had already completed online registration and payment, the chairman assured, would have their fees fully refunded.

The Oyo Mix & Mic Battle is positioned as a platform to discover, promote, and celebrate emerging talents across the state, and organisers reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a more inclusive and impactful event in the rescheduled edition.
