Ibadan, Oyo State — The Member representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi (Wale Canada), has expressed deep grief over the passing of Hon. Chief Dr. Makanjuola Ayoola Joe, the Odofin of Ago-Are Land, describing his death as a monumental loss to Oyo State and the political landscape of Atisbo Local Government.

In a condolence message, Hon. Wale Canada said the late Odofin was a distinguished statesman, community leader, and administrator whose life was marked by uncommon integrity, humility, and unwavering dedication to public service.
The lawmaker recalled the sterling contributions of the deceased during his tenure as Executive Chairman of Atisbo Local Government and later as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, noting that Chief Dr. Makanjuola Ayoola Joe played a pivotal role in strengthening grassroots governance and advancing youth development across the state.

According to Hon. Wale Canada, the late traditional ruler’s leadership style, wealth of experience, and commitment to the progress of Ago-Are, Atisbo Local Government, and Oyo State at large earned him widespread respect and admiration beyond political and social divides.


He described the passing of Chief Dr. Makanjuola Ayoola Joe as the exit of a political pillar and a bridge-builder whose counsel and guidance will be deeply missed by leaders and community members alike.
Hon. Wale Canada extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, the Ago-Are Traditional Council, the people of Ago-Are, and residents of Atisbo Local Government, praying that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He further prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed elder statesman, urging the people to take solace in the impactful, fulfilled, and service-driven life he lived.

“Oyo State has indeed lost a political pillar and a worthy son. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace,” the lawmaker concluded.
