The Honourable Member representing Ibadan North Constituency I, Hon. Olufunke Comforter Olajide, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Alhaji Aliyu Dahiru Zungeru, the revered Sarkin Hausawa of Ibadanland, as she personally visited and joined the Sabo community to mourn the late traditional ruler.

Hon. Olajide, who was present in person at the residence of the deceased and within the Sabo community, described the late Sarkin Hausawa as a father figure, bridge-builder, and committed community leader whose reign was marked by peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence among diverse ethnic and religious groups in Ibadanland.

She noted that Alhaji Zungeru’s leadership was anchored on wisdom, humility, and selfless service to humanity, earning him respect not only within the Hausa community but across Ibadanland and Oyo State at large.
Hon. Olufunke Comforter Olajide commiserated with the entire Sabo community, the Hausa/Fulani traditional institution, and the family of the late Sarkin Hausawa, praying that Almighty Allah grants them strength and comfort in this moment of grief.
She further prayed that Allah (SWT) forgives his shortcomings, accepts his good deeds, and grants him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, while urging the community to uphold the enduring legacy of peace, unity, and tolerance which the late Alhaji Aliyu Dahiru Zungeru stood for.
