Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke , on behalf of the Oyo State Government, has felicitated with one of Nigeria’s football legends, Dr. Felix Owolabi Akinloye, on his 70th birthday.
In a statement released by the Commissioner, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, she described Dr. Akinloye as a true Nigerian football legend, whose contributions to the development of the sport in the country cannot be overstated.
“Dr. Felix Owolabi is an icon and a role model to many young Nigerian footballers. His achievements on and off the pitch are a testament to his hard work, dedication, and passion for the sport,” the Commissioner said.
Hon. Adegoke also praised Dr. Akinloye’s commitment to giving back to the society, particularly in the area of youth development.
“As a government, we are proud to associate with Dr. Akinloye and to celebrate his milestone birthday. We wish him many more years of good health, happiness, and continued service to humanity,” she added.
Dr. Felix Owolabi Akinloye, a former Nigerian international footballer, is best known for his exploits on the pitch, where he won several laurels, including the African Cup of Nations. He has also made significant contributions to the development of football in Nigeria, serving in various capacities, including as a coach and administrator.
