The Chairman of the Oyo State Community and Social Development Agency (OYCSDA), Hon. Abideen Adeaga, has lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development and social inclusion across the state. Speaking during a commemorative event marking six years of Governor Makinde’s administration, Hon. Adeaga described the governor’s support for the agency as “transformational” and a catalyst for revolutionary change in community development.

In his address, Hon. Adeaga emphasized that Governor Makinde’s leadership has redefined governance by prioritizing the welfare of underserved and rural communities through targeted infrastructure, health, education, and empowerment projects facilitated by OYCSDA.
Over the past six years, we have witnessed a historic shift in how government engages with communities,” Adeaga said. “Thanks to Governor Makinde’s visionary support, OYCSDA has been empowered to deliver over 700 micro-projects across all zones of the state, directly impacting the lives of thousands of residents.

He highlighted several key interventions under Governor Makinde’s administration, including the renovation of schools, provision of solar-powered boreholes, health center upgrades, skills acquisition programs, and inclusive projects tailored for vulnerable groups such as women, children, and persons with disabilities.

According to Hon. Adeaga, the partnership between the state government and the World Bank-supported Community and Social Development Project (CSDP) has been instrumental in accelerating grassroots development. He attributed the success of the initiative to Governor Makinde’s political will and transparent leadership.

What we have achieved in six years is nothing short of revolutionary. The governor didn’t just give us a mandate he gave us the resources, the freedom, and the trust to carry it out effectively,” he added.
Hon. Adeaga reaffirmed OYCSDA’s commitment to sustaining the momentum and expanding its reach across Oyo State. He called on local governments, traditional rulers, and development partners to continue supporting the agency’s mission of inclusive and participatory community development.

As Governor Makinde marks six years in office, OYCSDA’s achievements stand as a testament to what is possible when leadership is driven by equity, transparency, and a deep-rooted commitment to the people.
