Otunba Seye Famojuro Graces Fresh FM’s 10th Anniversary, Debuts Commemorative Book with ₦10M Each for Gov. Makinde and Self

In a dazzling fusion of philanthropy, political gravitas, and media celebration, Otunba Seye Famojuro, the renowned and trusted ally to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, turned heads at Fresh FM’s glittering 10th anniversary gala on Saturday. The event, held in Ibadan the capital of Oyo state, marked not just a decade of rhythmic waves rippling across Oyo and beyond, but also a profound testament to resilience, community impact, and the unyielding spirit radio broadcasting.

Fresh FM, the brainchild of gospel music icon and philanthropist Yinka Ayefele (MON), has evolved from a fledgling station launched in 2015 into a cultural powerhouse. Broadcasting a vibrant mix of English and Yoruba-infused entertainment, news, and lifestyle programming—reaching millions across Oyo, Ogun, Lagos, Osun, Ondo, and Ekiti states.

In his opening address, Otunba Seye Famojuro lauded the Radio station on 10 good years of remarkable impact—describing it as “a beacon of obvious truth and professionalism in an era of noise”. He highlighted the station’s role in bridging ethnic and political divides. “Fresh FM isn’t just a radio station; it’s the heartbeat of our people, pulsing with stories of hope, resilience, and unfiltered joy,” Famojuro added, evoking Ayefele’s own narrative of triumph over adversity.

But Famojuro, the selfless architect of goodwill, didn’t stop at words. In a move that sent ripples through the hall, he unveiled a commemorative book. This book is our collective memoir,” Famojuro declared, “a reminder that media isn’t ephemeral; it’s eternal.”

The book launch crescendoed into an even bolder gesture of largesse. Famojuro announced personal donations of ₦10 million and another ₦10 million for Oyo Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. “These aren’t gifts; they’re investments in the voices that will shape our tomorrow,” Famojuro said, as the audience erupted in applause.

The momentum swelled as dignitaries followed suit. the Oyo Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (OYO ALGON) committed ₦3 million to the commemorative book launch that would contribute to public discourse—while Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu pledged ₦2.5 million.
