A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Otunba Oluseye Opatoki, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Chief (Barr.) Olumuyiwa Makinde on his recent promotion from Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland to the esteemed traditional title of Aare Onibon of Ibadanland.

In a goodwill message released on Sunday, Otunba Opatoki described Chief Makinde’s elevation as a well-deserved honour that reflects his longstanding contributions to the cultural heritage and traditional institution of Yorubaland, especially in Ibadan.

According to Otunba Opatoki, Chief Makinde has consistently shown deep commitment to the promotion of Yoruba customs and values. “His dedication to preserving the rich traditions of our land is commendable. The Ibadan traditional system has found in him a worthy son and servant of history,” he stated.

The PDP stalwart also praised the newly installed Aare Onibon for his philanthropic endeavours and his unwavering support for the administration of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde. “Chief Makinde’s generosity and loyalty have made a significant impact across communities. His alignment with progressive governance continues to contribute to the development of our state,” Otunba Opatoki added.

He concluded the message with a prayer for greater heights: “More elevations ahead, Sir. Èmi yin a’gun fun wa, Insha Allah.”

The elevation of Chief (Barr.) Olumuyiwa Makinde has been met with widespread joy and celebration among traditional rulers, political leaders, and the people of Ibadanland, further reinforcing his reputation as a man of honour and service.
