Ona Ara Chairman, Dr. Kolapo Temitope GLORIOUS, Honoured as Grassroot Politician of the Year

The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government, Dr. Kolapo Temitope GLORIOUS, has been presented with the prestigious Grassroot Politician of the Year Award by the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Ibadan Zonal Station.

The presentation took place live in the studio during a special programme on Premier 93.5 FM, Dugbe, Ibadan, where the Zonal Director of FRCN Ibadan, Mr. Dominic S. Mokikan, formally bestowed the honour on Dr. GLORIOUS. Mr. Mokikan praised the Chairman for his transformational leadership, community-focused governance, and unwavering commitment to improving grassroots wellbeing.

The event, which commenced at 11:00 a.m., was anchored by Emperor Imoyosola Adetoro (JP) and Mrs. Funmilayo Ilesanmi, drawing notable political figures, top government officials, and respected stakeholders from across the state.

In attendance were: Hon. Windapo Oluwole, Vice Chairman and Political Head, INUKAN LCDA, Hon. Abolade Yerima, Leader of the House, Hon. Babatunde Sunmonu, Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Isiaka Arinola, Chief of Staff, PDP Ona Ara Party Leader, Chief Waheed Ajao Aderodekun, Supervisory Councillors, Special Assistants, and several political aides.

Also present were key administrative heads, including: Alhaja Mujidat Ojewumi, Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Olatunbosun Olarewaju, Director of Administration and General Services, Other management staff of Ona Ara Local Government.

Describing Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS as “a shining example of effective, people-centered governance,” Mr. Mokikan applauded the Chairman’s far-reaching impact across communities in Oyo State.

In his response, Dr. Kolapo Temitope GLORIOUS expressed deep appreciation to the people of Ona Ara and offered heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, for the opportunity to serve. He reaffirmed the Governor as his role model in leadership and governance, noting that the honour further motivates him to strengthen his commitment to sustainable development, social welfare, and progressive service delivery.
