Elders and key stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oluyole Local Government have reaffirmed their unflinching loyalty to Seyi Makinde and the party’s leadership structure in Oyo State.

This was as the party in the Council area declared their continued commitment to unity, internal cohesion, and stability within the fold.
The resolution was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Local Government Secretariat, Idi-Ayunre, on Monday, April 20.

At the meeting, party leaders, ward executives, and other key stakeholders across the 10 wards of the local government gathered to deliberate on current political developments and the future of the party.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the leaders expressed strong confidence in Governor Makinde’s administration, describing his leadership as “inclusive, people-driven, and anchored on integrity.”

The PDP chairman in Oluyole, Alh Nasiru Hamzat, stated that the governor has continued to demonstrate “exceptional commitment to governance and party cohesion,” adding that the PDP in Oluyole remains firmly aligned with his vision for the state.

“We are proud of the leadership being provided by Governor Seyi Makinde. His approach to governance has brought stability to both the government and the party.
“As stakeholders in Oluyole, we reaffirm our total loyalty and continued support for his leadership,” he said.
In his brief remarks, the executive chairman of the local government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji maintained that the visionary leadership of governor Makinde as espoused in his economic blueprints has been what he called “a veritable compass guiding the government and the party from inception.”
In line with that vision, Olatunji said Oluyole had to key into the Sustainable Development Agenda of the governor and immediately domesticated Makinde’s blueprints for the socio-economic development of the Council upon his assumption of office.
He reiterated that “governance is all about service and when the people are happy, safe, and secured, then government would have achieved its mandate and continue to consolidate on the recorded success.
He particularly praised the governor for providing more than leadership, stressing that Makinde’s political mentorship has accelerated the growth process of many younger politicians, positioning them for leadership roles at all levels of government.
“We can not overemphasize the role of governor Seyi Makinde in our lives as politicians. He has been more than a leader to many of us.
“He has been a role model and his vision for Oyo state, contained in his economic blueprints has continued to serve as a compass guiding us all the way.
“As his political disciples, we again, reaffirm our unfettered loyalty, dedication and commitment to his leadership and rightly declare that we’re fully with on wherever direction he leads us.
“The governor is our father, one that can put your mind to rest in the face of any political adversity. Oluyole is fully united, one, and cohesive political family under governor Makinde. And opposition elements know that for a fact that Oluyole is fully locked down under the PDP.
Other stakeholders also pledged their allegiance to the governor and leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, emphasizing the need for discipline, unity, and respect for party structures.
Other party leaders at the meeting stressed that sustaining the internal cohesion remains critical as political activities gradually build up across the state.
“This is not the time for division. The strength of our party lies in our unity. We stand solidly behind the leadership of our visionary governor and the PDP in Oyo State. We will continue to work together to protect our collective interest,” he stated.
The meeting further resolved that all members should remain committed to the ideals of the party and avoid actions capable of creating unnecessary tension within the ranks, especially as 2027 general elections draw near.

Some of the stakeholders present at the meeting include the immidiate past Council chairman, Hon. Olaide Settle,
former Oluyole PDP chairman, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, LG vice chairman Of Oluyole Hon Niyi Akorede, Chairman of Oyo State RUWASSA, Alh. Babalola Afobaje, Oluyole House of Representatives Aspirant, Hon Akinsanmi Ajao among others.
