The Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Engr. Akeem Olatunji, has commissioned a rural electrification project to bring electricity to Ireakari General and its surrounding communities.

Olatunji described the project as another milestone under his administration in its commitment to the commitment of his electoral promises to the people of the area.
The LG chairman, who lauded the people of the area for their consistent support and cooperation with his government said, the project was a “promise made and promise fulfilled.”

“This project is not only in fulfillment of my electoral promise to the very good people of Ireakari community, it is a thank you project for your consistent support for our administration.


“The executive governor of Oyo state has repeatedly stated that the reward for a good job done is more work, and so we will rededicate ourselves to our people at the grassroots in line with the Omituntun 2.0 Sustainable Development Agenda of governor Seyi Makinde.
“This project is not just about lighting up our communities, it is about energizing opportunities. Electrification will serve multiple areas, enhance the beauty of the environment, and boost the local economy.
“I want to urge the community to see this project as their own and endeavor to maintain it well so that it can serve its purpose for a very long time,” Olatunji stated.

Speaking earlier at the event, the Chairman of Ireakari General, Adesiyan Olusegun Thomas, commended Engr. Olatunji for keeping his promise to the people.
He emphasized the far-reaching benefits of the electrification project, describing it as a major step toward improving the standard of living, enhancing security, and boosting socio-economic activities in the area.
“On behalf of the 13 communities under Ireakari General, we express our profound gratitude to Engr. Olatunji.
“This project will transform lives, and we pray for more strength and wisdom for him to continue his good works,” Thomas said.
In recognition of his dedication to grassroots development, community leaders presented an Award of Honour to Engr. Olatunji for his outstanding service and unrelenting commitment to the progress of grassroots communities.
The event drew the presence of community stakeholders, traditional and religious, and youth leaders, and residents, who lauded the project as a turning point in the developmental phase of Ireakari General.
