In a remarkable recognition of leadership, service, and consistent youth empowerment, the Executive Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, has been conferred with a Fellowship Award by the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Oyo State Chapter.
The honour was bestowed upon him at the NYCN’s flagship programme, “Leadership Forum of the Youth and Award of Fellowship”, themed “From Aspirations to Action: Youth as Agents of Reparative Justice and Sustainable Development.”
The Chairman of NYCN Oyo State Chapter, Comrade Emilia Alex Oluwatimilehin, described Hon. Olufade as “a leader whose life reflects an unwavering commitment to the development of young people and the sustainable growth of Oyo State.”
He added that the honour was not just an award, but a celebration of a public servant whose actions continue to inspire a generation of young leaders.
In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Olufade expressed profound gratitude to the NYCN for finding him worthy of such a distinguished honour.
Reflecting on the theme of the event, he shared his political journey, acknowledging everyone who played pivotal roles in shaping his career.
He encouraged the youth to embrace dedication, service, and consistency, noting that “in the journey of life, one must stay focused, be intentional, and strive for excellence without walking the path alone.”
According to him, “Success is sweeter when it is shared. Don’t aim to succeed alone, carry others along.”
He further charged the youth to make their voices heard, reminding them that their contributions to society are not only needed but essential for building a progressive nation.
Hon. Olufade highlighted the meaningful impact he has made within the youth constituency in Ibadan North and beyond, stressing the importance of youth involvement in politics.
He warned that “if the best among us fail to participate, the worst among us will continue to lead.”
He urged them to take responsibility for shaping their future, noting that “the journey to tomorrow begins today, don’t wait until tomorrow.”
In a gesture that further demonstrated his commitment to youth development, Hon. Olufade donated a brand-new generating set to the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Oyo State Chapter to support its activities.
The event was graced by several notable personalities, including the Member of the House of Representatives representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle Don.
