The Oyo South Senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM), Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide Odidiomo, alongside member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo, Hon. Lateef Adebare Akorede and Hon. Olusola Adeleke, on Thursday attended the eighth-day Fidau prayer held in honour of the deceased Islamic scholar, the late Fadeelat Sheikh Al-Imam Alhaji Abdul Azeez Fasasi Orimadegun, the immediate past Imam of Igangan Land and President/Chairman of the League of Imams and Alfas, Ibarapa Chapter.
The event was graced by community leaders, Islamic scholars, political stakeholders, party faithful and residents from across Ibarapa axis, providing an opportunity for prayers, solidarity and reset engagement with the people.
At the event, Odidiomo, Ibarapakan, Hon. Lateef Adebare and Hon. Sola Adeleke made handsome financial donations in support of the bereaved family, the widows of the late Grand Chief Imam and the League of Alfas and Imams present at the gathering.
In their separate remarks, the political candidates called on the people to support and vote for all APM candidates in the forthcoming general elections, stressing the need for unity and collective commitment to the party’s success across Oyo State.

Following the Fidau prayer, the campaign train explored Igangan community, where Odidiomo, Ibarapakan, Hon. Lateef Adebare and Hon. Sola Adeleke, Hon. Peter Ojedokun alongside other party leaders, addressed a large gathering of APM members and supporters.
The visit also gave the candidates an opportunity to meet with APM members, listen to them and encourage them to remain united as the party prepares for the forthcoming elections.
At the meeting, substantial financial contributions were made to support the activities and grassroots mobilisation efforts of APM members in Igangan. Similar gestures of support were extended to APM members in Ayete and Tapa communities by Hon. Odidiomo, in furtherance of his engagement with party faithful and grassroots structures across the constituency.
Addressing mammoth crowds across the different communities, Odidiomo spoke on the importance of continuity in legislative representation, maintaining that the National Assembly offers numerous opportunities for lawmakers to deliver meaningful results when given sufficient time to build on their experience.
The ranking lawmaker said he would not be part of those who tell lies that there is nothing to achieve in the National Assembly, insisting that there are numerous opportunities for legislation, development initiatives and interventions capable of improving the lives of constituents.
According to him, denying a lawmaker a second term could limit the opportunity to consolidate the experience and achievements accumulated during the first term.
Using a poignant analogy, the federal lawmaker likened losing the opportunity for a second term to the grief associated with losing a child, stressing the importance of continuity in public service and the opportunities that come with re-election.
He listed some of the achievements he had facilitated, including road construction, sponsoring numerous individuals abroad for scholarships, building schools, constructing modern boreholes, providing financial support and distributing over 3,000 laptops to students in different institutions of learning, among others.
Odidiomo explained that his appreciation of the opportunities available to lawmakers had deepened following his reelection in 2023, when he began to experience more fully the benefits of legislative experience and the capacity to achieve greater results.
He therefore appealed to the people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North to reelection Hon. Adepoju, saying the federal lawmaker had performed excellently during his first term and deserved another opportunity to consolidate his achievements.
He urged constituents to consider the importance of experience, continuity and effective representation in making their electoral decisions.
The campaign train also made a stop at the newly reconstructed Igangan Town Hall, where Odidiomo and residents of the community exchanged commendations over the reconstruction project.
