Odidiomo Donates ₦10 Million to Arisekola Central Mosque, Celebrates Eid-el-Maulud with Muslims

The Oyo South Senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) and member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency of Oyo State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Olajide Odidiomo, has donated ₦10 million to the Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Central Mosque, Iwo Road, Ibadan, in the spirit of the Eid-el-Maulud celebration.

Odidiomo announced the donation during last Friday’s Juma’at service at the mosque, where he joined Muslim faithful in worship and reflected on the significance of the birth and exemplary life of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly his teachings on compassion, sacrifice, humility and service to humanity.

The federal lawmaker described Eid-el-Maulud as an important period for Muslims to renew their commitment to the virtues exemplified by the Prophet, stressing that the celebration should go beyond festivities to inspire greater love, unity, generosity and concern for the less privileged.

He said his decision to support the mosque was borne out of his belief that places of worship remain important centres for spiritual guidance and community development. According to him, supporting religious institutions is also part of his commitment to fostering peace, unity and social cohesion within the communities he represents.

The Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Central Mosque, located along Iwo Road in Ibadan, is one of the prominent Islamic worship centres in the city. It was established by the late Aare Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, a renowned Muslim leader and philanthropist who made significant contributions to Islamic activities and religious causes during his lifetime.

Odidiomo said the ₦10 million donation was made in the spirit of the season and as part of his continued support for religious and community initiatives.

He congratulated Muslim faithful on the occasion of Eid-el-Maulud and prayed that the celebration would bring renewed faith, peace, unity and blessings to Muslim families, Ibadan, Oyo South Senatorial District and Nigeria at large.
