Hon. Wasiu Nurudeen, popularly known as Oba-Aro, has congratulated all the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) consensus chairmanship candidates who emerged during the party’s consensus process, expressing confidence in their ability to secure victory in the forthcoming local government elections.
In a statement, Oba-Aro commended Governor Seyi Makinde and the leadership of the party for what he described as the wisdom, intelligence and diplomacy displayed in the selection of the consensus candidate for Ibadan South-West Local Government. According to him, the decision once again reflects Governor Makinde’s exemplary leadership style and commitment to fairness within the party.
He particularly described the emergence of the son of Baba Ileba as the consensus candidate as a well-deserved recognition, noting that the decision demonstrates the governor’s resolve to reward loyalty and dedication. Oba-Aro added that Governor Makinde has continued to set a leadership standard that his successor should emulate, especially in the area of appreciating and rewarding committed party faithful.
The APM chieftain also applauded Otunba Seye Famojuro, whom he described as the “King of Boys,” for his leadership qualities and unwavering commitment to the welfare of his followers. He said Famojuro has consistently demonstrated selfless leadership by empowering and supporting those around him.

Speaking further, Oba-Aro described Governor Makinde as a promise keeper who has consistently fulfilled his commitments to the people of Oyo State. He said the governor’s ability to keep his promises is evident in the remarkable development recorded across critical sectors of the state, adding that this has further strengthened public confidence in his administration.
He also called on Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to continue supporting Governor Makinde and vote for him as the next president of the country so as to reset the nation and deliver it from incompetent leaders. He described him as a dependable leader capable of delivering good governance.
Oba-Aro further appealed to the group and the general public to support Hon. Bimbo Adekanbi in his governorship ambition, expressing optimism that Adekanbi would sustain and build upon the developmental strides already witnessed in Oyo State.
