The New Year kicked off on a generous and hopeful note for members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogbomoso Zone as Engr. Muftau Open Salawu, popularly known as Open Salawu and the Babalaje of Ogbomosoland, distributed 50 bags of rice to party faithful across the zone.

The gesture, which has become a consistent festive tradition, marks the fourth consecutive time Engr. Open Salawu has extended such support to PDP members across the five local government areas of Ogbomoso Zone.

Party members described the donation as timely, thoughtful, and deeply reassuring in the face of prevailing economic challenges.

Speaking during the distribution, Engr. Open Salawu urged PDP members to remain resilient, united, and committed to the ideals of the party, assuring them that difficult moments are temporary.

“Tough times do not last forever. What matters is our unity, loyalty, and belief in the future of PDP,” he said.

He further encouraged members not to be distracted by detractors, noting that some forces are uncomfortable with the PDP’s continued relevance and strength, but emphasized that the party remains alive and determined to serve the people.

The donation once again underscores Engr. Open Salawu’s reputation as a dependable leader and grassroots mobiliser whose commitment to party welfare and community solidarity continues to inspire PDP members across Ogbomosoland.
