The Honourable Commissioner for Culture and Tourism in Oyo State, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun, has led a delegation of the National Council for Isese Youth Organization to the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development in Ibadan, as part of efforts to secure formal recognition and registration.

In a statement released by the Head of the Media Unit to the Chairman, Opeyemi Rasheed Socrates, the delegation was received on Thursday by the Chairman of the agency, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, who commended the initiative and described it as a positive step towards cultural inclusion and youth engagement in the state.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Olatunbosun said the move was aimed at strengthening the relationship between traditional religious groups under the aegis of the National Council for Isese Youth Organization and government institutions, while ensuring that Isese adherents are properly integrated into youth development programmes.

He noted that the group has almost 40 youth groups under them, noting that the Isese groups are eager to contribute meaningfully to the social and cultural development of Oyo State, particularly in areas such as youth empowerment, cultural education, and value reorientation.

In his response, the Chairman of the Oyo State Agency for Youth Development, Hon. Adebowale Adebayo Falana, urged the groups to submit a comprehensive proposal that clearly outlines programmes and initiatives that would directly benefit young people across the state.
The agency chairman assured the delegation that the government was ready to support any initiative that aligns with the objectives of youth development, cultural preservation, and social harmony.

Adebowale further expressed his willingness to partner with the Isese groups, stressing that collaboration between cultural organisations and government remains critical to achieving sustainable development.

He added that formal registration with the agency would enhance coordination, accountability, and access to government-backed opportunities for the groups.
Members of the delegation expressed appreciation to the state government for its openness and pledged to submit the required documentation and proposal within the shortest possible time.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peaceful coexistence, cultural heritage, and youth-focused programmes in line with the state’s development agenda.
However, the visit is expected to pave the way for increased participation of Isese groups in state-sponsored cultural and youth initiatives.
