The Lagelu local government chairperson, Mrs. Taiwo Abibat Mudashiru has marked the dawn of 2025 with a heartwarming celebration of the first newborns of the year.
The Chairperson, known for her community-driven initiatives, honored two newborns—one given birth to at Monatan Health Centre and the other at Lalupon Health Centre—with a generous presentation of cash gifts, essential baby supplies, and mother care packages.
The joyous occasion highlighted the Chairperson’s commitment to supporting families and promoting maternal health within the local government. Mrs. Taiwo Abibat Mudashiru personally visited both health centres to welcome the newborns into the world and congratulate the mothers for their safe deliveries.
In a symbolic gesture of blessing and goodwill, she named both babies “Murewa,” a Yoruba name meaning “Bring Forth Goodness,” reflecting the hopeful and prosperous future the new year promises.
At the Monatan Health Centre, the first baby of the year was joyfully received into a warm environment as Mrs. Mudashiru presented the mother with baby essentials, including diapers, clothing, and feeding supplies.
The Chairperson also ensured that the mother received personal care items to aid in her recovery. Similarly, at Lalupon Health Centre, the second newborn was celebrated in the same spirit, with Mrs. Mudashiru extending her best wishes to the family and offering similar gifts of care.
