Man O’ War Nigeria Decorates Oyo PTS Chairman, Dr. Hon. Dikko Salami, As “War Marshal” For Exemplary Leadership

In recognition of his sterling leadership qualities, commitment to youth development, and exceptional service to Oyo State, the Man O’ War Nigeria, Oyo State Command, has conferred the prestigious title of War Marshal on Dr. Hon. Dikko Salami, the Chairman and Sole Administrator of Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services.

The decoration, which took place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, in Ibadan, was part of a grand ceremony attended by youth leaders, cadets, public officials, and community stakeholders.

In his address, the Oyo State Commandant of Man O’ War Nigeria described Dr. Salami as a “leader of substance and discipline,” who has demonstrated unwavering dedication to public service and has continued to mentor and inspire the younger generation through his impactful work in government.

“Dr. Salami has shown consistent support for youth-oriented initiatives, community development, and value-driven leadership.

Today, we proudly honor him with the War Marshal title, a rare recognition reserved for individuals who embody the core values of Man O’ War,” the Commandant noted.

The War Marshal title is one of the highest honorary distinctions within Man O’ War Nigeria, reserved for exceptional personalities who have demonstrated outstanding discipline, patriotism, and leadership both in their professional roles and in support of the organization’s mission.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Hon. Dikko Salami expressed profound gratitude for the honor and pledged his continued partnership with Man O’ War and other youth-focused organizations across the state.

“This title means a lot to me. It is not just an honor, but a reminder of the responsibility we all have in shaping the minds of our young people.

I dedicate this to the hardworking team at Pacesetter Transport and to every youth striving to make Oyo State better.”

He continued with a heartfelt and reflective address, sharing his personal journey and the significance of the recognition:

“About four months ago, I was falsely accused in Oyo State of something I did not do.

But today, I can say this is one of the happiest days of my life.

While researching the true meaning of the title War Marshal, I discovered that it is the highest-ranking position in any paramilitary organization.

Being honored with such a title today is deeply humbling.

When I was appointed as the Chairman and Sole Administrator of Oyo State Pacesetter Transport Services, there were only five operational buses.

Today, I’m proud to say we have expanded our fleet of buses to 105

As of today, I have served 1 year, 10 months, 2 weeks, and 5 days in this position. Within this time, we have over 40 buses operating within the Ibadan metropolis,11 intra-city buses, and now 20 CNG buses running inter-state routes between Abuja and Lagos.

Thanks to the visionary leadership of our Governor, Oyo State has been rated as having the best interstate partnership with the Federal Government.

In fact, apart from the Governor, this audience is the second to hear this good news: another batch of CNG buses has just been released to Oyo State.

We are hopeful that before the end of this month, we will launch new routes from Ibadan to Kwara State and Ibadan to Ogun State Our buses now commute no fewer than 30,000 passengers daily.

My presence here today is not just to be honored, but to show my appreciation and support.

Therefore, I am donating ₦500,000 to support this event.

I am also pledging another ₦500,000 to the upcoming National Camp in August, and I will also cover all logistics and transport costs related to the camp.

I sincerely appreciate everyone here today, especially the staff and members of Man O’ War.

I also hope the Commander will keep me regularly briefed on activities so I can stay updated with all that is happening in this noble organization.

The event featured a ceremonial parade, presentation of the official War Marshal regalia, and goodwill messages from various dignitaries.

The decoration further affirms Dr. Salami’s growing legacy as a transformational figure within Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration and a trusted advocate for youth empowerment.
