A prominent community leader and Oloye Babatunde Ologburo has commended Governor Seyi Makinde for initiating the comprehensive overhaul of the Oyo State Government House, describing the move as bold, visionary, and long overdue.

Speaking with journalists in Ibadan, the Sanmori Adini of Oyo Kingdom emphasized that the Government House, which has stood since colonial times, no longer meets the standards of a modern, progressive state like Oyo.
“This decision is not just necessary; it is long overdue. Any forward-thinking person will agree that Oyo State deserves a befitting Government House that reflects our status as a pace-setting state,” he said.

Ologburo recalled a similar development when Governor Makinde decided to pull down the old Oyo State House in Abuja, a move that initially attracted criticism. “When the governor demolished the Abuja property, the opposition cried foul. But today, the new Oyo House stands tall and competes favourably with the best across the country,” he noted.

He further praised Governor Makinde’s commitment to completing abandoned projects by past admistrations, particularly within Oyo Federal Constituency, saying it reflects a governance style rooted in progress and accountability.

“Governor Makinde is not only transforming infrastructure, but he’s also breathing life into projects that have long been forgotten. This is the kind of leadership we need,” Ologburo added.
He urged citizens and political stakeholders to support the governor’s efforts to modernize the state and deliver lasting development across all zones
