These are key features of the SAPZ program

Agro-Industrial Hubs: The program involves the development of agro-industrial hubs, such as the Fasola Agribusiness Hub, to serve as centers for agricultural processing and industrialization.


Economic Growth: The SAPZAB aims to stimulate economic growth, enhance food security, and improve rural livelihoods.

Investment in Infrastructure: The program includes investment in infrastructure, such as access roads and logistics, to support agro-industrial development.

Under Governor Seyi Makinde’s leadership, Oyo State has made significant strides in agricultural development. The state has :
– Expand OYSADA: The Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency to support agribusiness partnership between the state, private sector, and development organizations.
– Upgraded Fasola Farms: Transformed Fasola Farms into a thriving industrial hub, now designated as Nigeria’s first SAPZ.
– Developed Road Infrastructure: Improved road infrastructure to connect all zones of the state, enhancing access to markets and facilitating economic growth.
– Supported Smallholder Farmers: Implemented policies and programs to support smallholder farmers, promoting agricultural productivity and food security.
