In a remarkable display of governance and responsiveness, Governor Seyi Makinde has fulfilled his promise to support traders affected by the recent fire incident at Aleshinloye Market in Oyo State. The devastating blaze, which occurred few months ago, razed down shops and goods worth millions of Naira, leaving many traders in dire straits.


The governor’s timely intervention has brought much-needed relief to the affected traders, who have expressed their heartfelt gratitude for his prompt action. By providing cash palliative to the victims, Governor Makinde has demonstrated his commitment to supporting the business community and helping them recover from the loss..
In the month of April, when Governor Makinde visited the market, he declared that his Administration will restructure the Alesinloye Market in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, to avert a recurrence of the fire incident that destroyed goods worth millions of Naira in March, 2025.

The Executive Chairman of Ibadan South West Local during the distribution of cheques to the victims stated that Governor Makinde as a promise keeper has released sum of two hundred and fifty thousand Naira to each of the 100 traders who were affected during the inferno. The N25 million relief package is part of the government’s palliative measures aimed at providing solace and support to those affected by the devastating inferno.


In her response to the gesture, Mrs Taiwo lawal, the chairperson of Plastic Sellers in Aleshinloye market laud Governor Makinde for the gesture.Your palliative came to us in fulfillment of your Excellency pledge to support us in seeing to it that our pains and sufferings are assuaged by the unfortunate incident.
