The Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, has declared the local government area as one of the most attractive destination for business investments in the Ibadan region, citing good infrastructure and a conducive environment for trade and commerce.

Hon. Kamorudeen made the declaration while commissioning a new plank market in Ile-Igbon, describing the project as a major boost to economic activities in the area.
Speaking during the event, the chairman said the new market would help create jobs, enhance the timber and building materials trade, and further position Lagelu as a hub for entrepreneurs.

“Lagelu is now one of the best places to open and grow any business. With the support of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, we have prioritised infrastructure development, security, and market upgrades to make our local government investor-friendly,” Hon. Kamorudeen stated.

He commended the efforts of stakeholders and community leaders who contributed to the realisation of the new business area, noting that the market would serve not only residents of Ile-Igbon but also neighbouring communities and beyond.

The chairman emphasised that his administration remains committed to providing an enabling environment for small and medium-scale enterprises, adding that more developmental projects are in the pipeline.

Residents and traders at the event lauded the initiative, describing it as a welcome development that would reduce congestion in existing markets and stimulate local economic growth.
