The Councillors of Lagelu Local Government have paid a congratulatory visit to the lawmaker representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Olajide Akintunde Emmanuel, popularly known as AKT, following his emergence as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the forthcoming 2027 general election.

The delegation, which comprised Councillors from all the 14 wards in Lagelu Local Government, was led by the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Idogbe Aduragbemi Emmanuel. The visit was in recognition of Hon. AKT’s unanimous emergence through a consensus arrangement recently adopted by party leaders and stakeholders across the local government.
The consensus decision, widely described as peaceful and strategic, reaffirmed the confidence of the party in Hon. AKT’s leadership capacity, performance, and continued commitment to grassroots development. Political observers within the council area noted that the development reflects unity and shared vision among party stakeholders ahead of the next general election cycle.

Speaking during the visit, Hon. Idogbe Aduragbemi Emmanuel commended the lawmaker for his impactful representation and dedication to the people of Lagelu. He noted that the Councillors across the 14 wards deemed it necessary to personally felicitate with him in appreciation of his service and leadership.


Other members of the delegation also expressed satisfaction with Hon. AKT’s performance, describing him as a dependable representative who has consistently prioritised the welfare of the people and supported the activities of the local government legislative arm.

In his response, Hon. Olajide Akintunde expressed profound gratitude to the Councillors for the visit and their show of solidarity. He described the gesture as encouraging and reaffirmed his dedication to delivering more dividends of democracy to the people of Lagelu.


Hon. AKT also appreciated party leaders and stakeholders for their role in ensuring a peaceful consensus process, noting that such unity would further strengthen the party’s chances in the 2027 general election.
