The chairman of Lagelu local government, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru has honored a group of distinguished individuals with lifetime recognition awards for their lifetime of effort, sustained, long-term contributions, dedication, and impact over an extended period of service to the local government area.

The ceremony, which celebrated dedication to progress and public welfare, spotlighted recipients including Chief. Oribayo Okeyode, Chief. Olakunle Sanda, Hon. DA Lawal, Hon. Lafisoye Akinmoyede, Hon. Ola Dimeji Segelu, Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar, Chief. Busari Adelakun, Sen. Lekan Balogun, and several others who have played crucial roles in advancing the area’s development, security, culture, and economic vitality.
Chairman Kamorudeen, widely regarded as one of Nigeria’s youngest and most effective local government leaders since taking office in May 2024, used the occasion to emphasize the importance of recognizing those who serve selflessly at the community level.

“These individuals represent the backbone of Lagelu’s success,” Chairman Kamorudeen stated. “Their selfless contributions in supporting infrastructure improvements, promoting peace, and uplifting our people align perfectly with our administration’s mission to deliver real results and dividends of democracy. Honoring them today is not just gratitude, it’s a commitment to the values that make strong communities thrive.”

The awards come amid Chairman Kamorudeen’s latest track record of bold legacy project in legislative infrastructure, under the leadership of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform.
Sources close to the event described the atmosphere as electric, with community leaders, residents, and stakeholders praising the chairman’s vision for inclusive governance that rewards merit and long-term service.

Observers have said the lifetime recognition move could inspire even greater civic participation and set a standard for other local governments across Nigeria.
