In a remarkable show of unity and respect, the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Kamorudeen Mudashiru, was in attendance at the inauguration of the new leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Lagelu Chapter. The event, held on Thursday, attracted prominent leaders and members of the Christian community, traditional rulers, as well as dignitaries from the local government.
The occasion marked the official transition of leadership within the CAN-Lagelu chapter, with new officials taking the helm to steer the association in its mission of fostering Christian unity, community service, and interfaith dialogue in the region. During the ceremony, Hon. Kamorudeen delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing his gratitude to the Christian body for their continuous support of his administration and the local government area.
The chairman acknowledged the instrumental role the Church has played in the social and developmental progress of Lagelu, emphasizing that the partnership between the local government and the body of Christ has been invaluable in implementing programs that benefits the entire community.
“I stand before you today not only as the Chairman of Lagelu Local Government but as a member of this great community that has always enjoyed the support, prayers, and contributions of the Church. Your commitment to uplifting the lives of our people is a testament to your faith, and I deeply appreciate the work we continue to do together,” Hon. Kamorudeen said.
He went on to assure the Christian community of his administration’s continued support, promising to work closely with the new leadership of CAN-Lagelu to ensure that the community’s spiritual, social, and infrastructural needs are met. He also commended the outgoing leadership for their dedication and vision during their tenure. The council chairman also pledge his support towards the completion of the CAN – Lagelu Chapter’s headquarter office in year 2025.
The newly inaugurated leadership of CAN-Lagelu also expressed their gratitude to the local government for its consistent support and pledged to continue fostering peace and goodwill among all religious groups within the area.
In closing, Hon. Kamorudeen reiterated his commitment to building a more inclusive, prosperous, and harmonious Lagelu, urging residents to continue to uphold the values of unity, peace, and service that both the local government and the Christian community holds dear.
