The Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Hon. Kamorudeen, has extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle, popularly known as “Don,” for his resounding victory in the Ibadan North Federal Constituency bye-election held on Saturday, August 16, 2025.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Oyekunle, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the winner of the keenly contested election, having polled 18,404 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Adewale Olatunji Murphy of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 8,312 votes.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Hon. Kamorudeen praised Oyekunle’s landslide victory, describing it as a testament to the trust and confidence the people of Ibadan North have in the PDP and its leadership.


“This victory is a clear reflection of Hon. Folajimi Oyekunle’s dedication to the progress of Ibadan North and the unwavering support of our people for the PDP’s vision of good governance,” Kamorudeen said.
“I congratulate him on this well-deserved win and urge him to continue his good work through the work of representation for the constituency at the federal level.”
Hon. Kamorudeen also commended the peaceful conduct of the election, applauding INEC, security agencies, and the people of Ibadan North for their commitment to a free and fair electoral process.

He noted that the victory reflects the enduring legacy of good governance championed by Governor Makinde, which continues to resonate with voters across the state.
