Just In: Oyo lawmaker Mabaje Adekunle Rasaq inspect “oja agbe” market destroyed by windstorm in Omi adio

The honourable representing Ido state constituency at the Oyo state house of assembly hon Mabaje Adekunle Rasaq woke up to the cry of market women in Omi adio who came emass on a save our soul mission to his house, according to Mrs kafilat moshood, who led the women, the collapse of the market structure by windstorm last night and it was by his grace that they escaped been trapped under the structure.

They came to appeal to the honourable to help them by rebuilding the demolished structure housing them, the place is the market where fruits of various types are sold and simply referred to “oja agbe”

Hon Mabaje Adekunle Rasaq representing Ido state constituency at the house of assembly in Oyo State, on Wednesday morning visited the destroyed “oja agbe” Market in Omi adio to assess the extent of damage done by the windstorm, which occurred in the late hours of Tuesday.

The honorable who inspected the market alongside his aids, friends some government functionaries, expressed shock and sadness over the loss of goods.

He said that he would hold a meeting with leaders of the market to find common grounds on ways of resolving the travails of the market.

The chairman of “oja agbe” who received the honorable when he went on the spot accessment, hon Waheed oladele popularly know as wedel, in his own account said he also received calls from the women and he was informed that it happened around 8pm yesterday night, he also seek assistance from the honourable representing Ido state constituency for the rebuilding of the structure.

In his response the honorable said: “I greet every one of you here this morning.

I have seen the extent of destruction and I know how important this market is to the people of Omi adio

“I was here some months ago when you called on me and i interacted with you.

I am still trying to process in my head the way forward but I want to let you know that i will come to your aid. we will sit together and look at the immediate palliative we can do for you.

Thanking the honorable,the community leaders appreciation hon Mabaje Adekunle Rasaq for his prompt action immediately he was informed about the incident and seek for his help in accommodating the traders in the new omititun market constructed by the Government in Omi adio.
