Proceedings at the Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan, were abruptly halted on Tuesday after the former Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, popularly known as Auxiliary, reportedly slumped in the courtroom.

The incident occurred at the hearing of the case with suit number I/74c/2024: State v. Mukaila Lamidi (Auxiliary), while the defendant was waiting for the matter to be called.
As a result of the development, the court could not proceed with the day’s sitting.

Auxiliary is currently standing trial on 17 counts, including allegations of armed robbery, murder, attempted murder, and unlawful possession of firearms. The weapons allegedly involved include an AK-47 rifle and two SMG rifles with accompanying magazines.

The charges are reportedly linked to incidents said to have occurred on May 29, 2023, at about 2:00 p.m., near the Ikolaba residence of Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, in Ibadan.
According to unconfirmed reports, the defendant was immediately taken back to the clinic at the Agodi Correctional Centre for medical attention.
Further details on his condition and the adjournment of the case are awaited.
