Atmosphere was filled with cheers of joy as the Ibarapa-based political group known as Amazing Team openly endorsed Governor Seyi Makinde for Nigeria President, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi for Oyo State Governor and Hon. Olusola Adeleke for Ibarapa Central Local Government Chairman.
The group explicitly discussed its direction ahead of the forthcoming Oyo State local government and 2027 general elections at a strategic meeting held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Methodist Primary School playing ground, Idere and attended by over 500 members of Amazing Team across the three political wards in the community.
Addressing the gathering of loyalists, The Supervisory Councillor for Education and Social services in Ibarapa Central, Hon. Olukunle Ayo Adegbemi said Governor Seyi Makinde’s performance across critical sectors have moved Oyo State from the former position it was met in 2019, thus setting a standard of excellence in governance and public leadership.
Adegbemi noted that the assessment of the Governor Makinde’s performance in 8 years of his administration informed the decision of Amazing Team to throw its weight behind his presidential candidacy, assuring that Nigeria can only heave a sigh of relief from misrule of successive administrations of the All Progressives Congress led Federal Government.
The Supervisory Councillor explained that numerous achievements and people-centered policies of Governor Seyi Makinde are testaments of his goodwill towards the good people of Oyo State, adding that Nigeria now needs a sensitive administrator to help cut the cost of governance to barest minimum and deliver dividends of democracy to millions of Nigerians.
He said: “Engr. Seyi Makinde deserves our support. He is a courageous man and his understanding of governance is what Nigeria needs to deal with complex national issues affecting her progress.
“We saw how he treated Oriire kidnapping case as if the victims were his relatives. His ferocious advocacy for state policing is not a political gimmick, but an ideology of a standpoint of understanding of how the rising wave of insecurity can be checkmated.
“Governor Seyi Makinde is also facilitating high-quality and long-lasting roads in rural and urban areas of Oyo State. These are for the comfortability of Oyo State people and he can do more if trusted with greater leadership responsibilities”.
Hon. Olukunle Adegbemi also said that the leadership of Amazing Team had assessed candidacy and manifesto of the gubernatorial candidate of Allied Peoples Movement, Hon. Bimbo Adekanmbi and they are convincing to endorse him as the next man to succeed Seyi Makinde as Oyo State Governor.
Adegbemi noted that Bimbo Adekanmbi has built careers across private and public spheres, blending administrative capacity and financial expertise to govern Oyo State, entrenching the streak of continuity of Omituntun in the pacesetter state.
Admitting Bimbo Adekanmbi as a successful businessman and credible candidate, Olukunle further stressed that even Senator Sharafadeen Alli of the All Progressives Congress could not come close to Adekanmbi in a free and fair election.
Ibarapa Central Supervisory Councillor for Education and Social services said Bimbo Adekanmbi has the zeal, seriousness, passion, experience and administrative competence to continue the legacy of good governance that Governor Seyi Makinde had introduced.
Hon. Olukunle Adegbemi also declared that the leadership of Amazing Team had equally considered it necessary to support Hon. Olusola Ayodele Adeleke popularly known as Solar for second term as the Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government in the coming Oyo State local government elections.
Adegbemi reflected on his working relationship with Solar, noting that his administration had rescued Ibarapa Central from the state of inactivity.
“No one can honestly dismiss performances of Hon. Olusola Adeleke since his election into our local council. The government has properly been functioning as it should being a level of government closer to the people.
“There are times I ask myself if our Chairman sleeps. There is no time he cannot call to discuss affairs of our communities and the next in his plan.
“Academic programmes, the roads, water projects, security interventions and sociocultural blueprints are what have distinguished Hon. Sola Adeleke from the previous occupants of the council chairmanship seat in the recent past.
“We have to support him and ensure he wins so that the good works will continue in our communities,” he said.
Overall women leader of Amazing Team, Mrs. Feranmi Olojede pointed out potentials of all APM candidates in the forthcoming elections and she vehemently encouraged people to be faithful in the loyalty to Amazing Team.
The group distributed food materials for the members as a means of social support as everyday Nigerians grapple with inflation among other economic crisis.
Amazing Team assured the members of taking care of their welfarism and political interest, and providing necessary supports at critical times.
The meeting was graced by the Supervisory Councillor for Education in Ibarapa North Local Government, Hon. Simisoluwa Agbeje; Mrs. Kazeem Kafayat (Ibarapa North) and other notable political functionaries from the neighbouring communities.
