The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) South West Women Leader, Yeyeluwa Mrs. Modinat Abosede Adedibu, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to women across Nigeria and beyond in celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025.

Speaking on this year’s theme, “Accelerate Action,” Chief Adedibu emphasized the need for deliberate and swift efforts in advancing women’s rights, political participation, and economic empowerment.

“International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate the achievements of women, but more importantly, it is a call to action.

The theme for this year reminds us that we cannot afford to move slowly in the fight for gender equality. We must accelerate action in all areas; education, leadership, business, and governance,” she stated.

She highlighted the vital role women play in Nigeria’s political landscape and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting policies that promote women’s inclusion.

She also urged women at all levels to take active steps in breaking barriers, especially as the country prepares for the next electoral cycle.

“Women must be intentional about leadership and governance. We must rise, support one another, and ensure that our voices are not just heard but respected,” she added.

Chief Adedibu called on stakeholders, government officials, and civil society organizations to work together to remove obstacles hindering women’s progress, including gender-based violence, lack of access to education, and economic disparity.

As part of her message, she encouraged young women to be bold, ambitious, and fearless in their pursuit of success.

She reaffirmed PDP South West Women’s commitment to fostering an environment where women thrive and contribute meaningfully to national development.

With International Women’s Day 2025 marking another milestone in the global gender equality movement, Chief Adedibu’s message used the moment to strongly appreciate the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for the adequate involvement of women in the government of Oyo State.
