Members of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagelu Local Government Area who were previously aligned with straying party chieftain Alhaji Adebisi Olopoeyan have formally dissociated themselves from his camp and pledged full loyalty to Governor Seyi Makinde.
The development took place in the Akobo area of Lagelu in Ibadan, where the Executive Chairman of Lagelu Local Government, Alh. Mudashiru Kamorudeen, alongside the APM-Lagelu Campaign Council, received the members.
Speaking at the event, the loyalists declared their unwavering support for the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde, stressing that while differences of opinion may exist within the party, crossing over, and openly associating with another party was unacceptable.
“It’s enough to disagree, but completely out of place to begin to openly associate with another party,” the members stated.

They emphasised that their decision was driven by a commitment to party loyalty and supremacy, and the need to maintain unity within the APM structure in Lagelu LGA.
The event underscores ongoing realignments within the party at the grassroots level ahead of the forthcoming local government elections.
