In a heartwarming effort to commemorate International Widows’ Day, the wife of the chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Mrs. Aramide Olufade, complemented the gestures of the wife of the executive governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Tamunominini Olufunke Makinde, as she distributed palliatives to 60 widows across the 12 wards of Ibadan North Local Government.

The beneficiaries also included members from the Widows’ Association, market women, and the Community Development Council.

The distribution event took place at the Ibadan North Local Government Council and was overseen by the wife of the Vice Chairman, Mrs. Ayoade Suliyat Aderonke, on behalf of Mrs. Olufade.

During the event, Mrs. Ayoade conveyed the chairperson’s appreciation to the executive chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade, for the opportunity to support the widows. She encouraged the widows to stay strong for their children and maintain good hygiene amidst the cholera outbreak.

“The little palliatives we provide today are a token of our continuous support. We shall continue to extend our hands of upliftment to you, not only as widows but as mothers, grandmothers, and producers of great leaders. Please, try to stay strong for your children and maintain good hygiene amidst the cholera outbreak. We pray for God’s blessings and success for you and your children,” Mrs. Aderonke stated.

Widows from various wards expressed their gratitude. Mrs. Ganiyat from Ward 8 thanked the chairperson for her kind gesture and prayed for continuous divine guidance for the Olufade family. Similarly, Mrs. Romoke from Ward 3 appreciated the palliatives and prayed for Mrs. Olufade’s success and protection.
