The People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 64th independence anniversary. The party enjoined Nigerians not to lose faith in the country despite the challenges facing the country currently.
In a statement signed by the Chairman of the party, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, the chairman prayed for the country to overcome its current challenges so it can regain its right position in the comity of nations.
The party also commended the people of Oyo State for supporting the administration of Engr Seyi Makinde since its inception in 2019. The party assured Oyo State people that the State government will continue to prioritize their welfare in its policy formulations.
The PDP in Oyo State also appealed to the All Progressives Congress led Federal Government to rescind some of its policies that are stifling Nigerians and businesses. The party lamented how cost of living has gone up astronomically with no respite in sight. The party said for Nigerian to truly celebrate the independence day, the federal government needs to do right by the country.
