Ido LG New Year Interfaith Prayer: Council Boss Historic Gesture Wins Staff Hearts

The Executive Chairman of Ido Local government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo gathered over 200 staff members for an interfaith prayer session right in the local government Multi-purpose Hall. Muslims , Christians and Traditionalists knelt side by side, their voices rising in harmonious supplication for peace, progress, and prosperity in the local government.

The staff erupted in applause as the event wrapped up, with many calling it a landmark achievement in Hon. Sheriff Adeojo tenure.

Speaking on behalf of staff ,the NULGE Chairman- Comrade Kamil Raji said Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has written his name in gold in Ido local government history” This is the first of its kind that staff will gathered in uniform for new year interfaith prayer, we want to thank you for being a listening leader and your prompt responses to our welfare. No previous chairman has united us this way” NULGE Chairman stated.

The Council Chairman took the microphone to express his gratitude to entire staff of Ido Local government and Omi Apata LCDA “Your unwavering support has been the backbone of our successes so far,” he said, his voice steady and sincere. “From infrastructural projects to community outreach, we have achieved so much together, and this is just the beginning.”

Hon. Sheriff Adeojo further made good on long-standing promises, announcing the immediate payment of 2018 staff leave bonus arrears before the month ends—a relief that drew cheers from the crowd. To ease daily commutes of staff, chairman released ₦500,000 as transportation fare, distributing it equitably among the staff in attendance.

The event witnessed a compelling lecture on staff regulations delivered by Mrs Titi Adesina – the director of administration and general services , she emphasized on compliance, ethics and career growth opportunities.

Complementing this, a health talk by Mr. Oluseyi Oladosu- the Primary Health Care Coordinator offered practical advice on wellness, stress management, and preventive care tailored to public servants. He advised members to do regular check-up and shun unprescribed drugs.

As the gathering dispersed, smiles lingered on faces. For Ido local government/Omi Apata LCDA staff, this was not just an event—it was a promise of better days ahead under a chairman who leads with faith, fairness, and action.
