Ido LG Annual Ramadan Lecture: Islamic Cleric Urges Politicians To Fulfil Promises

The Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde, has been described as pious and unbiased towards any religion.

Making the remark is the Executive Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, during the maiden Ramadan public lecture of Ido Local Government.

The chairman said Engr. Seyi possesses all the good qualities expected of a good leader; this is the reason he built Omituntun mosque despite being a Christian, and even before he became a Governor with a yearly Ramadan lecture.

Hon. Sheriff Adeojo said the world will be a better place to live if each and every one shows love and affection to their fellow beings irrespective of religion, tribe, or ethnic background.

In his lecture titled “Islamic and politics”, the guest lecturer, Sheikh Tajudeen Abdul Kareem Al-Adaby, commended the executive chairman for his initiative to be the first chairman to organize a Ramadan public lecture in Ido.

Sheikh Tajudeen Al-Adaby- while analyzing the topic of Islam and politics~, said Allah sent Muhammad to mankind with Islam and leadership, which can not be separated from politics.

According to him, the prophet Muhammad was able to accomplish the mission of spreading Islam to the whole world because of his good leadership style, which is expected from all politicians.

Sheikh Al Adaby called on the politicians to fear Almighty Allah by fulfilling their election promises as their election victory has the blessing of Almighty Allah.

Sheikh Tajudeen Al-Adaby equally tasked those in positions of authority not to be misguided and rely solely on whatever has been said by their close ally while those working with politicians should draw their attention to issues of general importance and be loyal and faithful to their leaders but not to the detriment of the masses who put them in power.

Present at the Ramadan lecture are: Barrister Niyi Akintola SAN, Alhaja Mutiat Ladoja, the executive chairman of Ibadan South West Local Government, Hon. Kehinde Akande, Alhaji Ayuba Akinsola and other PDP stalwarts and league of imams and Alfas.
