Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has congratulated his community father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye, the Olu of Igbo-Ora, on his appointment as one of the Deputy Chairmen of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

In a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, Hon. Adepoju described the appointment as well-deserved and a recognition of the Olu of Igbo-Ora’s exemplary leadership, wisdom and consistent commitment to peace, stability, unity and development in Igbo-Ora, Ibarapa Land and Oyo State as a whole.
The federal lawmaker noted that the appointment followed the formal inauguration of the revived Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs by the Oyo State Government, with His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, as the Chairman of the Council on a rotational basis.

The Ibarapa-born technocrat cum politician added that the development marked a historic moment for traditional institutions in the state, commending Governor Seyi Makinde for what he described as visionary and inclusive leadership in restoring the Council after years of inactivity.

According to him, the passage of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs (Further Amendments) Bill, 2025 and its subsequent assent into law, demonstrate the administration’s respect for tradition and the rule of law, the doctrine the incumbent executive governor of Oyo State has upheld and respected since 2019.
Ibarapakan applauded the introduction of a rotational chairmanship arrangement in the populous pacesetter state among the Alaafin of Oyo, the Soun of Ogbomoso and the Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing it as a thoughtful mechanism that promotes equity, unity and harmony among the foremost traditional rulers in Oyo State.
The lawmaker expressed confidence that the Olu of Igbo-Ora’s role as Deputy Chairman would further amplify the voice of Ibarapa within the Council and contribute meaningfully to peace, unity and sustainable development across the state.

The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, however, prayed for continued wisdom, good health and a successful reign for Kabiyesi, while wishing the revived Council of Obas and Chiefs the very best in their efforts to promote peace and stability in the state.
