Celebration across communities in Ibarapa as Ambassador Engr. (Dr.) David Olusegun Okanlawon, through the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF), fulfilled his commitment to winners of the 2025 sports and academic competitions, disbursing cash prizes to beneficiaries across the seven towns of Ibarapa region

The announcement of the cash disbursements was confirmed in a statement by Sunday Adedokun Harshasha, Media Aide to Ambassador Okanlawon. The initiative has been warmly received by beneficiaries, parents, teachers, and community leaders, who hailed it as a testament to Okanlawon’s integrity and consistent commitment to supporting youth development.

The payments covered winners across diverse major OOF initiatives held in December 2025. The initiatives includes the Second Edition of the Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition (OOMC), the Sixth Olusegun Okanlawon Marathon Competition, and the Seventh Annual Sports Fiesta, which featured football, draughts and Ayo Olopon.

In the mathematics category, Alawode Emioluwa of Hopecrest College, Igboora, who emerged as the overall best student among 37 participating schools, received a cash prize of ₦150,000. Olojede Promise of Royal Diadem College, Igangan, was paid ₦100,000 for second place, while Olagoke Gbolahan of Baptist Model High School, Eruwa, received ₦50,000 for finishing third.

For the marathon race, winners in both male and female categories were fully paid their respective cash rewards.

In the male category, Ayorinde Timothy, who finished first with a time of 1:36:00, received ₦150,000. Ayorinde John (1:39:00) received ₦100,000 for second place, while Azeez Abbas (1:42:00) was paid ₦50,000 for third place.

In the female category, Adepoju Ruth received ₦150,000 for emerging winner with a time of 2:02:00. Makinde Muthumoinat was paid ₦100,000 for second place, while Makinde Mukinat received ₦50,000 for finishing third.

OOF also confirmed that participants who finished between fourth and tenth positions in both male and female categories were compensated with cash tokens in appreciation of their efforts.

In the football competition, FC AMBASSADOR received the ₦250,000 grand prize as champions, while UNIQUE FC, the runners-up, were paid ₦200,000.
SUPER STAR FC earned ₦150,000 for finishing third, and the fourth-place team received ₦100,000.

Winners in the draughts and Ayo Olopon competitions, across both male and female categories, were also paid according to their finishing positions, with cash prizes of ₦50,000, ₦30,000, and ₦20,000 awarded to first, second and third place finishers respectively.

Speaking of the disbursement, officials of the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation stated that the prompt payment of prizes underscores Okanlawon’s belief that excellence should be rewarded and promises honoured.

Ambassador Okanlawon, a leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the House of Representatives seat representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, has consistently invested in education, sports and youth empowerment through OOF and the DOO Movement.

As celebrations continue across beneficiary communities, OOF has reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the initiatives, with preparations already underway for the 2026 editions.

For many of the young beneficiaries, the cash rewards represent more than financial support, they serve as validation of hard work, encouragement to pursue excellence, and renewed confidence in leadership that delivers on its promises.
