Member representing Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, has joined well-wishers, sons and daughters of Igbo-Ora and guests from across the country and beyond at the 90th birthday celebration of Dr. Chief Samuel Ojelabi Adeleye Akanmu Morakinyo.
The well-attended event, which took place at the University of Ibadan international Conference Centre, Ibadan, on Sunday, February 8, 2026, had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life.
Celebrating the community leader par excellence, Hon. Adepoju described Elder Morakinyo as an epitome of selflessness and a father figure whose life is defined by humility, service to God and humanity.
The federal lawmaker noted that the nonagenarian had meritoriously distinguished himself in three critical spheres of life: religion, politics and community service, adding that the Ibarapa region was blessed with a priceless gem on this day in 1936.
Hon. Adepoju stated that Elder Morakinyo did not merely participate in politics but demystified it, describing his political career as exemplary and unblemished.
The Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on Federal Character, acknowledged how Chief Dr. Morakinyo had been instrumental to many of the positive developments witnessed in Ibarapa over the past six decades.
On behalf of the entire Adepoju family, the good people of Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Federal constituency, he prayed to God to continue to grant the elder statesman strength, good health and long life as he marks his 90th birthday.
