The Chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government Area, Hon. Lateef Akorede, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the lawmaker representing Ibarapa North, Ibarapa Central Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Bayo Adepoju, family and the people of Igboora over the passing of their father, Dr. Amos Adepoju, the Asiwaju of Igboora.

Dr. Adepoju, a highly respected community leader and human capital developer, died on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the age of 80.
Akorede said that Dr. Adepoju’s contributions to the development of Igboora are immeasurable, dating back to the 1950s when he was an impactful member of the Igboora Literary and Progressive Union, which later became the Igboora Progressive Union (I.P.U).

He added that the vacuum his demise will create will be difficult to fill considering his experience and resourcefulness.


The Chairman prayed for the repose of Dr. Adepoju’s soul and expressed confidence that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
His words: “The demise of Dr. Amos Adepoju has created a vacuum that will be difficult to fill, considering his experience and resourcefulness.
“Dr. Adepoju’s contributions to the development of Igboora are immeasurable, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

“We pray for the repose of Dr. Adepoju’s soul and celebrate a life well-lived in service to the Igboora community.”
Dr. Adepoju is survived by his wife and children, including Hon. Dr. Anthony Bayo Adepoju, the current Honourable representing Ibarapa Central and North federal constituency.
