The Chairman, Nigeria Association of Christian Journalists, NACJ, Oyo State, Lekan Shobo Shobowale has enjoins Christians to deepen their faith in God as they commence the 2026 lent; 40 days fast in preparation for the Easter celebration.

In a message by the association spokesperson, Adeola Badru, Shobowale says lent is a solemn period that calls for sober reflection, repentance, and more commitment to spiritual activities.

He observes that the period also highlights the importance of self-discipline, sacrifice, intense prayers, humility, and obedience to the will of God.

He noted with joy that that the lent is commencing same day with Ramadan Fast, says it is a divine arrangement by God, and that the people should take advantage of the season to fervently pray for the good of the State and the entire nation.

He also urges the people to uphold their prayers for leaders at all levels of government, for good governance that would make meaningful impacts on the citizens.

The number one Christian journalist in Oyo state congratulates Christians on the commencement of lent and wishes them a successful and rewarding spiritual exercise.

He reminds them of the need to allow the significance of the season to reflect in all aspects of their lives during and after the lent.
