The Executive Chairman of Ibarapa East Local Government of Oyo State, Hon. Kazeem Owolabi Arogundade has described the sudden death of Chief Imam of Eruwa, Sheikh AbdulKareem Abdulsalam Olore who died on Sunday 20 July, 2025 as colossal loss to Ibarapa, Oyo State and Nigeria.

He died at 84 years of age.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the council chairman, Femi Ojedokun.

In the statement, Hon. Arogundade expressed profound sorrow over the passing, noting that the spiritual leader’s demise has left a void across the community and beyond.

He hailed Sheikh Olore’s unwavering devotion to service, describing him as a bridge-builder whose wisdom transcended religious lines and fostered unity among diverse groups.

“His commitment to peace, compassion, and guidance made him a beacon of hope,” the statement noted, adding that his counsel extended far beyond the mosque’s walls.

Hon. Arogundade, who is expected to join grieving families and dignitaries in Eruwa, called on residents and worshippers to honour the late Chief Imam’s memory.

He urged collective prayers and reflection, emphasizing that the best tribute to Sheikh Olore would be the continuation of the values he lived by.
