The wife of the Executive Chairman, Ibadan South West Local Government, Oluyole Estate. Chief Mrs,Mojoyinola Akande has charged women to embrace their responsibilities and strive for excellence in all spheres of life.
Ibadan South West Local Government Chairperson made this known in a statement released to commemorate the day, She emphasized the importance of women’s roles in shaping the future of families and nations. She noted that women are the backbone of society, and their contributions to economic, social, and cultural development cannot be overstated.
Speaking further, she said today is a day dedicated to recognize the achievements of women and girls around the world. And she is honored to commemorate this special day. Also reaffirm her commitment to promote gender equality and empower women.
Chairperson therefore, urged all women to reflect on their roles and responsibilities in their families, communities, and workplaces, She further noted that Women must strive for excellence in all they do, support one another, and work together to create a peaceful and equitable society
Mrs. Akande also highlighted the theme of International Women’s Day 2025, “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow,” and emphasized the need for women to take an active role in driving sustainable development and climate action.
She appealed that, critical role women play to promote development must be recognized. And there must be opportunities for women to participate in decision-making processes at all levels.
Finally, Chief Mrs Akande prayed for Long life and good health for all Women to eat fruits of their labours
