This reality was once again affirmed as the Executive Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Hon Akinwole Akinleye, was honoured with the prestigious Distinguished Support for Education Award in recognition of his unwavering commitment to the advancement of education and the development of future educators. The award was presented during the Faculty of Education Summit organized by Lead City University, Ibadan, a gathering that brought together education stakeholders, scholars, and development advocates to deliberate on the future of learning in Nigeria.

The honour did not come as a surprise to many observers who have closely followed the Executive chairman’s administration since he assumed office. From the very beginning of his tenure, Hon. Akinwole Akinleye demonstrated that education would remain a top priority of his leadership agenda. His first major project upon assumption of office was the construction of a three block of classroom building at Sagbe Community, a landmark initiative that signaled his administration’s readiness to invest heavily in improving learning infrastructure and providing students with a conducive environment for academic excellence.

Beyond infrastructure development, the Executive chairman of Akinyele Local Government has also demonstrated a strong commitment to student welfare and educational support. Through strategic collaboration with the Akinyele Youth Forum, he actively participated in behavioral change initiatives which included school visitations across communities within the local government. In another remarkable demonstration of his dedication to educational development, Hon.Akinwole Akinleye recently supported youths in Ward 5 through the payment of NECO examination registration fees for students.

This intervention relieved many families of financial burdens and ensured that deserving students were not denied the opportunity to sit for critical examinations due to economic constraints. His administration has also extended financial assistance to various student groups and organizations, further strengthening the educational ecosystem within the local government.

Additionally, Hon Akinwole Akinleye has sponsored several indigent students who face financial challenges in pursuing their academic dreams.
