Ibadan, Oyo State — Following the presentation of the 2026 budget estimates by Oyo State Governor, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde, the lawmaker representing Atisbo/Saki-East State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Saminu Riliwan Gbadamosi (Wale Canada), has commended the governor for what he described as “leadership per excellence, anchored on vision, capacity, and the genuine transformation of Oyo State.”

 

Hon. Wale Canada further praised Governor Makinde for being “the vocal point of fairness, equity, and justice,” noting that these values are consistently reflected in the governor’s policies, governance style, and equitable distribution of state resources across all zones.

 

He also lauded the governor’s sustained investment in infrastructure, education, security, agriculture, and economic development, saying that Oyo State continues to set a governance standard admired both nationally and internationally.

 

Describing the 2026 budget as “people-centered, development-driven, and strategically aligned with the real needs of communities across the state,” Hon. Wale Canada emphasized the importance of translating the budget into tangible projects that directly impact citizens’ lives.

Calls for Intervention on Agbonle–Ogbooro Road

 

Acknowledging the governor’s commitment to the development of Oke-Ogun, Hon. Wale Canada appealed for the urgent reconstruction of the Agbonle–Ogbooro road, a vital route linking several agrarian communities and facilitating the movement of farm produce.

 

He highlighted that rehabilitating the road would not only boost economic activities but also improve access to healthcare, education, markets, and security services across the region.

Advocates Minimum 5km Road Construction in Each Oke-Ogun Local Government

 

The lawmaker urged the governor to consider approving a minimum of 5km of road construction in each local government within Oke-Ogun under the 2026 fiscal plan.

 

He explained that such a strategic intervention would promote balanced development, open up rural communities, enhance local commerce, and strengthen the region’s contribution to Oyo State’s food and economic security.

Calls for Strengthened Security Architecture in Oke-Ogun

 

Hon. Wale Canada also stressed the need to tighten security across Oke-Ogun, citing the region’s vast land area, high agricultural activity, and porous borders.

 

He appealed for increased deployment of security personnel, improved logistics, and enhanced inter-agency collaboration to protect lives, farmlands, and major economic corridors.

The lawmaker reaffirmed his dedication to quality legislation, accountability, and responsive representation, assuring the people of Atisbo/Saki-East that he would continue championing developmental initiatives, supporting the governor’s vision, and ensuring Oke-Ogun receives equitable and strategic attention in state planning.
