The Supervisory Councillor for Mineral Resources in Ido Local Government, Hon. Fapetu Stephen, has commended the Chairman of Ido Local Government, Hon. Sheriff Aderemi Adeojo, for his magnanimity and commitment to easing the water challenges faced by residents of Promise Land and Ojimi-Olosun communities.

Hon. Fapetu expressed his appreciation following the implementation of a borehole project aimed at providing relief to residents across the communities, which comprise more than 16 zones and several settlements, including Olosun, Ojimi, Asabari, Agbojo, Sangolana, Mekun and Boriobinu, among others.

According to him, the intervention has come as a major relief to residents who have endured prolonged difficulties accessing potable water.

He noted that the last available public water source in the area had stopped supplying water for about four years, leaving residents without meaningful assistance from any quarter.

Hon. Fapetu described the borehole project as a timely and people-oriented intervention, stressing that access to clean and reliable water is essential to the wellbeing of residents and the development of communities.

He particularly commended Hon. Sheriff Adeojo for his passion for grassroots development and his determination to respond to the needs of communities across Ido Local Government.

“Hon. Sheriff Adeojo has demonstrated that leadership is about identifying the challenges confronting our people and taking practical steps to address them. This borehole project will significantly ease the stress faced by residents of Promise Land and Ojimi-Olosun,” he said.

Hon. Fapetu further praised the council chairman for prioritising community development and urged residents to continue supporting initiatives aimed at improving infrastructure and the quality of life across Ido Local Government.

He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting programmes and policies that promote sustainable development and improve the welfare of the people.
