Hon. Seun Fakorede Congratulates Alhaji Quadri Ogundele on Appointment as Special Assistant to Governor Makinde on Urban Development

Sometimes, the greatest reward for service is not what you receive, but what happens to the people who served alongside you.

Hon. Seun Fakorede has congratulated Alhaji Quadri Ogundele on his appointment as Special Assistant to the Oyo State Governor on Urban Development.

Fakorede, who received the news with immense joy, described Ogundele as one of his closest associates of over seven years and a dedicated public servant who served diligently alongside him during his tenure as Commissioner for Youth and Sports.

According to him, Ogundele was among the gentlemen who contributed meaningfully to the work during that period, adding that Governor Seyi Makinde later appointed him to the Oyo State Sports Council, before his latest appointment opened another chapter in his public service journey.

He said Ogundele’s story reinforces his belief that service creates opportunities—not only for those directly involved, but also for people whose lives intersect with the journey.

“Leadership should not be measured only by the positions we occupy, but by the number of people who become better, stronger and more prepared for greater responsibilities because they crossed paths with us,” Fakorede said.

The former commissioner expressed particular pride in Ogundele’s growth, noting that he had watched him evolve not merely in position, but also in experience, capacity and responsibility.

He added that the new appointment presents Ogundele with another opportunity to serve, learn, contribute and grow.

Fakorede also encouraged those currently serving in public and private capacities not to underestimate the importance of the seeds they are planting through their service.

“Some opportunities may not come immediately. Some doors may open years later. But genuine service has a way of creating a trail of possibilities.

“And when those you once served with begin to rise, celebrate them graciously. Their growth is not your loss; it shows the journey meant something,” he added.

Fakorede congratulated Alhaji Quadri Ogundele on the appointment, urging him to serve with distinction and make the most of the new responsibility.

“Congratulations, Alhaji Quadri Ogundele. Go forth and serve with distinction. May this be another beautiful chapter in an even greater journey,” he said.

He also expressed appreciation to his principal, Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, FNSE, for what he described as his commitment to delivering good governance and providing opportunities for capable individuals to contribute to the development of Oyo State.
