The League of Imams and Alfas in Ibadan North Local Government has presented an Award of Recognition to renowned businessman, philanthropist, and PDP stalwart, Hon. Olusoji Olusegun Alade (fondly known as Hon. SOJ), in acknowledgment of his remarkable contributions to religious harmony and community development.

The event, held at Omo Aj’orosun Club, Ibadan, drew several distinguished Islamic clerics, political figures, and community leaders from across the local government area.
According to the League, Hon. SOJ’s recognition was anchored on his uncommon spirit of inclusiveness and generosity across faiths. Despite being a Christian, he has shown unwavering support to the Muslim community; Sponsoring a Month-long Ramadan Lecture on Radio donating during Ramadan, attending Islamic lectures, and directly supporting the construction and renovation of mosques.

A key highlight of his community service was the complete renovation of the Adamasingba Mosque in Ward 6, Sabo area; a mosque he had known since childhood; transforming it into a modern edifice equipped with tiles, fans, toilets, and fresh painting.

The mosque was officially commissioned by the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Hon. Oluwaseun Olufade (ONALA), who also donated a large generator to support the worship centre’s smooth running.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Coordinator of the League of Imams and Alfas, Imam Sheikh Mustapha Bello (Olohun-Ero), who also serves as the Grand Chief Imam of Sango and its environs, described Hon. SOJ as “a bridge-builder whose generosity transcends religion, politics, and tribe.”
Other prominent clerics present included Sheikh Imam Abdulhameed Arowolo (Life Patron), Sheikh Badmus Abd’rahamon (Vice Chairman), Sheikh Abd’Wahab Ibrahim Alarape (Accountant General), and Sheikh Imam Ibrahim Ishola (Committee Chairman). The event was anchored by Imam Sulayman Ketefe (Odoye), while the sermon was delivered by Imam Nurudeen Nasir.

Part of those who graced the occasion in solidarity with Hon. SOJ were his close friends and associates; Mr. Adigun Ajetola, Hon. Ibrahim Faira (Ward 6 Councillor, who also bagged an award), Deacon Ayodele Faleke (G.O.C Alpha Yankee), Alh. Habeeb Olayinka (CEO, OHAA Crown Nig. Ltd.), Chief Kehinde Providence, and Mógàjí Samuel Toba-Olumide.
In his remarks, Hon. SOJ expressed deep appreciation to the League for the honour, saying the gesture will inspire him to do even more for humanity.
“I am truly humbled by this recognition,” he said. “It reminds me that kindness is universal. When you give without boundaries, you help build a world that sees humanity first before religion or politics.”
A touching moment came when Hon. SOJ’s biological father arrived toward the end of the ceremony and was equally honoured by the League, a symbolic seal of generational blessing that left the audience emotional.
As the programme drew to a close with prayers, the gathering was reminded that good deeds, no matter how small, never go unrewarded.
As the saying goes, “A good tree is known by its fruit; he who does good will never lack honour.” Truly, when you plant goodness, it blooms in unexpected seasons and blossoms in the hearts of men.
