The Executive Chairman of Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State, Dr. Temitope Kolapo GLORIOUS, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin.

In a condolence statement signed by the Chairman’s Press Secretary, Mr. Rahmon Alawode, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS described the late monarch’s reign as short but significantly impactful, noting that he ushered in a renewed era of peace and unity within the Olubadan-in-Council and across Ibadanland.
According to the Chairman, Oba Olakulehin was a revered and quintessential traditional ruler whose leadership reflected wisdom, humility, and an unyielding commitment to the growth and stability of Ibadanland and Oyo State as a whole.

“With a heavy heart, I mourn the death of our great king in Ibadanland, whose demise remains a great loss to the family, Ona Ara Local Government, Ibadan, and the state at large. Though Kabiyesi’s reign was brief, his presence on the throne brought harmony, healing, and hope to our people,” the statement read.

Dr. Temitope GLORIOUS, while praying for the peaceful repose of the late monarch’s soul, extended his condolences to the Olubadan-in-Council, the entire Ona Ara Local Government where the revered monarch hailed from, the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, and the Oyo State Government, urging all to find solace in the legacy of service, unity, and dedication left behind by the departed royal father.

He concluded by stating that Oba Olakulehin’s legacy would continue to resonate in the hearts of Ibadan sons and daughters, both at home and in the diaspora.
