Media professional and public relations practitioner, Hassan Adesodi Olaoniye, has been formally inducted as an Associate Member (ANIPR) of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Nigeria’s apex regulatory body for public relations practice.
The induction ceremony, held on Friday, June 26, 2026 at the institute’s national headquarters in Abuja, brought together public relations professionals, academics and communication experts from across the country.
Established by Decree No. 16 of June 1, 1990, now an Act of Parliament, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations is mandated to regulate the practice of public relations in Nigeria and determine the standards of knowledge and skills required of practitioners in the profession.
The induction marks a significant milestone in Olaoniye’s career in journalism, strategic communication and public affairs, formally granting him professional and legal recognition to practise as a public relations practitioner.

Speaking after the ceremony, Olaoniye described the achievement as a long-awaited breakthrough and expressed gratitude to God, the institute and everyone who contributed to his academic and professional development.
He said the professional certification would further strengthen his capacity as a journalist and public relations professional committed to building, managing, protecting, repairing and repositioning reputations.
Olaoniye noted that the qualification would also enable him to access both national and international opportunities available to public relations professionals while contributing to the promotion and protection of the image and reputation of Nigeria and the African continent.
The newly inducted ANIPR member has built a reputation in journalism and strategic communication through his work with Peoples Conscience and his current roles as a Legislative Aide at the National Assembly and Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, the member representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North Federal Constituency and Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Federal Character.
He also used the opportunity to appreciate institutions and individuals who have shaped his academic and professional journey, including The Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa; The Federal Polytechnic, Bida and Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
Olaoniye further acknowledged the support of Professor Emmanuel S. Dandaura, Vice President and Vice Chairman of Council of NIPR; Mr Stanley A. Ogadigo, Director of NIPR and Mr Sunny Ntuenibok Donatus for their guidance and mentorship throughout the process.
Colleagues, associates and stakeholders have continued to congratulate him on the feat, describing the honour as well deserved in recognition of his years of service in public affairs reporting, journalism, strategic communication and community development advocacy.
With his induction into the institute, Olaoniye is expected to further expand his engagement in professional public relations practice, leveraging his extensive media, legislative and community-based experience.
As he celebrates the achievement, he reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the highest ethical and professional standards of public relations practice while contributing meaningfully to the advancement of the profession and society at large.
