Habeeb Onihantu Congratulates Oloye Iyiola Abiola on His Elevation as Bada Olubadan

Habeeb Onihantu, veteran radio presenter at Success 105.3 FM and Personal Assistant to Hon. Ilumoka Presenter Akintayo Waheed of Oluyole Constituency, has extended heartfelt congratulations to his uncle, Oloye Iyiola Abiola, on his elevation to the esteemed title of Bada Olubadan. The title was conferred by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland.

In an emotional tribute shared through his media aide, Onihantu described the recognition as “richly deserved,” calling it a reflection of Oloye Iyiola’s life of service, humility, and unwavering commitment to the progress of Ibadanland.

Onihantu also expressed his gratitude to the Olubadan for honoring a “true son of the soil.” He praised the monarch’s continued dedication to recognizing excellence, preserving Ibadan’s rich cultural legacy, and upholding religious and communal values, noting Oloye Abiola’s generous donations to mosques and contributions to the Muslim community.

Earlier today, May 9, 2025, in accordance with Oyo State’s chieftaincy laws, the Olubadan of Ibadanland promoted 14 high-ranking chiefs along the Otun line of succession.

This move, following the recent passing of Ekefa Olubadan, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo, forms part of the traditional transition process that sustains continuity and stability within the revered Olubadan chieftaincy hierarchy.
